So excited to announce Baby Davis #2 on the way!
Estimated date of arrival: August 15th
After several weeks of awful morning (all day) sickness, I must be starting to feel a little better- I actually cleaned all our bathrooms, mopped the kitchen floor, showered and did my hair, took Jacob to the children's museum, and updated the blog this week. Miracle? Maybe. Granted- by 4:00pm each day its still back to the couch with my blanket and many hopes I can keep all of the days' food down. As hard as it is, I know the sickness is nothing but good signs for the baby's health and growth, so I am grateful.
Jacob has been the sweetest thru it all. When he can tell I'm sick, he'll bring over his blankie, lay it over both of us. He'll pat my cheek and lay on my chest. Sometimes we watch movies. Sometimes we read book after book after book...
The plus side of the sickness has been how much it has slowed me down and helped me appreciate the little moments of mother joy- I have really loved the one-on-one time with my munchkin the last couple months. Suddenly it didn't matter if the dishes aren't done, the laundry sits in the basket un-folded for days, I have an enormous stack of un-opened mail on the counter, and I haven't blow-dried my hair in two months. But Jacob IS learning his colors, counting, and ABCs which makes me SO so happy. He's talking and understanding so much more which has been a huge blessing. Sometimes we just sit and laugh at eachother's silliness.
Stephen has also been a champ to do double duty in the evenings when I'm at my worst. He does a billion things for me and hasn't complained once about the lack of dinners or groceries in general. (The fridge has been my worst vomit trigger. Which is tricky with a toddler wanting milk and snacks all day. Oh yeah- milk- my other worst trigger! Sorry if that's too much information.)
At anyrate. I am grateful for all these two do for me. Stephen's an amazing father and I know Jacob is going to be an awesome big brother. I can't wait to see how he'll respond to it all. I know there will be challenges, but also the greatest of joys.
So, as I said in my last post- "Here's to an exciting new year!" and a new babe on the way...

Pregnancy is THE WORST! The baby is amazing, but the pregnancy is just all around... a trial- I finally settled on that yesterday at church when I was learning about trials... yes, it was self inflicted, but if anything in my life counts, this does. Good Luck with everything!!
