Good News

Nope- no big announcements. Just 10 random mom-ish things that are making me happy these days.

1. The potty training situation is SO much better. I had to giggle a little as I saw Jake running to the potty at 2:00am this morning even though he was in a pull up. "Potty. Potty!" he said in his half-asleep voice. Good boy! He's been waking up dry no problem.

2. Landon's reflux has calmed a bit. (Almond "milk" really isn't so bad, and I've lost a few extra pounds since going off the icecream.)
He's such a sweet boy. Smiling a lot more though I haven't quite caught it on camera yet.

3. He's growing... like crazy. This week I had to pack away a bunch of clothes that are already too small for him.

4. I'm loving this fall weather. I adore having open windows with fresh air and seeing the leaves changing. I also loved pulling out my box of sweaters this week that I might actually fit into soon.

5. I got a haircut. Finally.

6. I cut Jacob's hair. Finally.

7. I made dinner three times last week. And I'm not talking frozen stuff.

8. Jacob is LOVING going to his playschool. He's sharing, painting, climbing, singing, and coming home excited to tell me how it went.

9. We went to the State Fair which included a Home Depot building workshop. So fun for dad and son. Jacob carries his tool kit around the house singing "Bob the Builder" at the top of his lungs on a regular basis these days.

10. My sister and cute nephew come to visit in just four days! Can't wait. I get so lonely in these faraway Northwest parts. She'll then be my flight escort with the boys back to Utah for a week of family. YAY!

"Like Pinocchio!"

Last night Jacob fell down the stairs. A bad half flight- fall flat on his face- kinked neck at the bottom- kind of fall. Sheesh. Scared me to death. I saw the whole thing as I was with the baby on the couch. He was just coming too fast and tripped on a toy he was holding. Stephen was also in the room and came to his rescue in less than two seconds. Jacob cried and cried for a few minutes but fortunately he wasn't really hurt. No broken arms, no sprained neck. I'm thanking my lucky stars... yet again.

After the crying stopped he got up and with tears on his cheek said, "Like Pinocchio!"

And we couldn't help but bust up laughing because he was so right. It really did look JUST like this!

Our laughing was contagious. He started laughing and hammed it up by doing the "Pinocchio fall" again and again- only this time on the cushy couch.

Maybe you would have had to been there, but it's SO funny what goes through a two-year-old's head. Now that he's is talking more we can actually appreciate all the smart humor and great connections he has.

I'm so glad Jake could get up and start singing and dancing just like Pinocchio did after such a bad fall.

Brothers

Jacob is just adoring his little bro.
Each morning he either climbs into my bed or into the crib requesting to cuddle baby Landon.
The funniest thing he does though, is just get right up into his face and stare at him.
Cracks me up.

Just loving these too.
(Also loving Landon's pointy little chin and Jacob's never ending case of bed-head. :)

Sleep Smile

Photobucket

Ever wonder what babies dream about? Landon's sleep smiles are absolutely adorable and every once in a while he'll actually start this funny breathy laugh. I guess he's got a sense of humor already?
