My New Blog

Dear Fam and Friends,
We have a new photography blog and we are super excited about it!

So if you're at all interested, add it to your blogroll or google reader. We're still working out a couple more technical things, but there are a few posts on there already, so its a start.

Special thanks to Caleb for helping us get it started, to Laura for the gorgeous header designs, and for all the cute people that let us take their pics...

Baby Boxes, Etc.

Lately this kid has been obsessed with boxes and bins! I know this is classic toddler behavior, but its pretty entertaining to see what he chooses to do with this stuff...

The peaceful reading box...

The joy of organizing diapers...
One of my favorite moments of the last week was when I came in from the kitchen and saw he had pulled out the sand-toy bin, emptied it, and plopped himself comfortably right in front of Elmo.

And the last couple weeks he has begged for the pack-n-play. He'll pull my arm to where its stored in my bedroom and help me set it up. He piles his toys in, plays in it for about 10 minutes. Then he's done.
Poor kid was almost in tears when he saw some of his old favorite (though lately quite neglected) toys being boxed up for the garage. But he enjoyed the last minute bonding time...

I can only imagine the suprises extreme boxing/packing/moving will bring in a few months!

Open Doors

I've always been a believer in "Everything Happens for a Reason." And I've always felt that Heavenly Father puts certain people in our lives for a purpose. Recently we've been blessed with the same confirmation.

"In Short": We will be forgoing the Flagstaff Residency and moving to Albany OR this summer for Stephen's new JOB!

"In Long":

It all started three years ago when Stephen and a group of students from USC went down to Belize and Guatemala for an international dental service trip. I was super lucky to be one of the few non-students invited to help out.

While Stephen worked alongside other student doctors and a few professionals...

I joined up with a few others teaching Dental Hygeine in the elementary school.

On the trip we became friends with these guys.
An LDS couple, and owners of a very successful dental practice in Albany, OR.

We really enjoyed their company those 10 days and wondered if we'd ever see them again. As luck would have it, Stephen kept in contact with Jeff, and was invited to several Dental Implant Courses up in Seattle and also in LA which Jeff teaches. They even invited us to stay with them for a few days last August so Stephen could observe how the practice is run.

Stephen has thought of him as a great mentor in this field and has appreciate all he's learned so far. I often thought "What if he invited you to practice with him in Oregon?" But then brushed it off, not wanting to wish for too much, considering they already had all their partnership and associate spots filled.

Steve got THE CALL a couple weeks ago with an inredible offer! And then it was all confirmed just a couple days ago. As fate would have it- a partner in this Albany practice is leaving in June. Jeff told Stephen they thought he'd be a great match for the practice long before this opportunity ever came up- Amazing how perfect the timing is with his graduation being in May.

Stephen has worked incredibly hard these four years to get to this point and I am SO proud of him.

So, this summer, we are headed to...
Oregon.
We are completely thrilled!

Someone does watch over us and opens these doors of opportunity. We are so thankful.

Lemons

Jacob helped me pick lemons in our backyard today. I just love how he wants to help do "big people stuff." It's very sweet.

There was a perfect branch just his height.
He tested them out to make sure they were ripe.

And then he tried to put them back on the tree.
He couldn't quite get the fact they weren't like legos.
But he was happy none the less.

I {heart} him.

Waiting on My world to change...

Maybe you've read my post about Flagstaff. Perhaps you saw my note on FB about the BIG change of plans? Yes- Stephen got a call from a dentist (whom Stephen has worked with several times at international clinics and dental-implant courses) in Oregon offering him an incredible associate job opportunity in Albany. He said he just needed to confirm with his partners but he was pretty sure it was a go.

He said he would let us know for sure soon. Its been four days! I am waiting on pins and needles here! Will we be skipping the residency and moving up to Oregon? Or will the offer fall through for some reason and we'll be back to Flagstaff, AZ?

I must say I am so so grateful we have been offered two amazing opportunities. All I know is, we won't be in LA anymore. So for now I'm just trying to enjoy the moments that only California offers...

I'll let you know when I know.
