Photo a Day #5: Cousin's Retreat

I truly consider myself very lucky to know such amazing women in my life. Earlier this month we had an incredible week in Vegas with sisters, mothers, cousins, aunts, and a few babies and bellies.

We had fun and inspiring classes and activities, went swimming and shopping, ate at fabulous buffets and restaurants (still dreaming about those breakfast desserts at the Cosmopolitan), relaxed, and just enjoyed each other's company.
A big thank you to all those that planned and prepared for such a great experience. I can't wait for next year!

Photo a Day #4: Tricycle

Now that the weather is somewhat cooperating we are trying to teach Jake to ride his new trike from Grandma.
He's still growing into it.

And still figuring out the pedals. He would prefer to just "Blast off" down the driveway.

Photo a Day #3: Day Out with Thomas

Hmm, perhaps these titles are misleading since I've been including more than just one photo in all of these.
Can't help myself.

While in Utah we took a trip up to Heber for the big Day Out with Thomas event. If you know my two year old, you know he LOVES his trains. It was so fun to share the day with family and cousins.

And the picture is so telling- he couldn't take his eyes off of Thomas...
and he's pulling his ear since he was getting over yet another ear infection.

The next day my dad took Jacob to Borders to pick out a book. What did he pick?
A Thomas book and playset of course.
Photobucket
And what is he doing as I take a few minutes on the computer?
Listening to the Thomas soundtrack and playing trains on the floor. Cute kid.
Thanks for the day out, Mom and Rachel! And thanks for the souvenir, Dad!

Photo a Day #2: A First for Everything

Jacob went to the dentist ("daddy's work") for his first real visit a few weeks ago.
Good news: He actually let them check and polish his teeth.
Bad news: They found his first two little cavities. (Insert frowny face)

Looks like even the dentist's kids will get them no matter how much we try to prevent them.
He was a champ for the two following visits it took to drill and fill (with the help of some sedation.)
I'm just glad I can trust this dentist... even with the goofy cheese face he's making.

And we're all grateful for the treasure box at the end of the visits.

Here's hoping there's no cavities next time!

Photo a Day #1: California Beach

There are many things I probably could have posted about the last few months... but didn't.
So in my sorry attempt to fill in some gaps, I'm doing the "Photo a Day" challenge for a week.

Photo a Day #1

Back in April we ventured down to Southern California with my family.
One of my favorite memories was Jacob enjoying the sand and sunshine again amidst a very long and rainy winter.

We're Back

Still alive!
And I can see I'm not the only one who's been neglecting the blog scene lately.
I guess we're all busy enjoying the arrival of summer, huh? Me too. Just got back from a 15 day whirlwind trip to Utah and Las Vegas and am still trying to catch up. Lots of house work to do. Lots of photo sessions to edit. LOTS of baby prep to come. And lots of park time with my little man before this quick season disappears again. My feet may or may not be starting to swell.

Well, I don't get too many pics of the two of us, especially lately in all my pregnant glory, but here's one for today. Taken last weekend at the big wedding in St. George...

Have I mentioned how much I still love dancing?
And how much I love my handsome little dance partner!
