So. In just 5 short months Stephen is GRADUATING! It's really just right around the corner and I couldn't be prouder of this guy. He has worked SO hard to get to this point. Over 20 years of school in his life. Whew! And now its time to start planning where we go from here.
So. Let me ask you, Where SHOULD we go from here?
Stay in California? Go back to Utah? Try out Colorado, Washington, or Oregon?
Or maybe go to Alaska for a couple years- (an amazing starting salary, plus extra $ to help us pay back student loans!) I lightly, partly jokingly, brought this up to Stephen after seeing a postcard from Fairbanks with the offer. Then later that week I spotted Stephen looking up some Alaskan stats that showed I really put a bee in his bonnet. (BTW one of those stats was the average winter temp being -27 degrees F. Whoah.)
We may just be considering all the aforementioned. Including the Alaska.
Sure I'd have to invest in one of these.

And maybe some of these.

My son might look like this.

And be afraid of this.

But hey, how many people can say that they've actually seen this?

Maybe someday that could be me.
So. I guess we'll see.
Wish us luck as we welcome any new adventure coming our way.

Wow! That would be a fun adventure though!
I thought Stephen didn't like the cold! But as I stood one night hunting for the "northern lights" my one trip to Alaska, It was an amazingly beautiful state like none other I had seen. From mountain glaciers to melting shores, always keeping our eyes open for bears, thousands of Salmon, a couple of whales, but remember to budget in that you might have to buy a sea plane as that is how many travel from town to town. Where ever you go, we will try to come and see you as often as possible, or you might choose to meet us for a warm trip to the beach and Disneyland. We are so very proud of Stephen. Early congratulations!
Really? Do you wonder where I'm going to say? UTAH!!! Boo paying back student loans, boo more money, boo the super cold! :)
What about us?! My boys are missing their favorite playmate!!!
Come back to us!!
Oh, and your family is here... that's important too ... he he he!
I've got a pretty short list of things that I want to accomplish before I die (like less than 10) but one of those things is to see an auroraborealis (northern lights). Paying off student loans would be nice, however I must inform you that as of this time next year, Cindy and I will be in Colorado, and it sure would be nice to have you there with us!
Deciding where to go after school is such an exciting thing. I love moving to a new place to explore. Good Luck with the decision.
Your old Dentist Gary Matthews says to check out East Montana and East Texas.
i had the opportunity early on in my career to set up email systems for a shipping company. i would have been based out of hong kong, but would have traveled a lot with my new bride to ports all around the world for 6-10 weeks at a time.
i've always regretted that i didn't take that offer fwiw.
Orderville needs a dentist! Thomas can provide the place, you provide the dentist! I think it's a great idea.
North Carolina!
